About Jamtse in Action

“Jamtse: Loving-Kindness In Action” is registered Charitable Trust and was established in September, 2008. Jamtse's mission is to bridge the gap between society and younger generation with the older generations of Tibetans through providing emotional and physical services for the elderly and retired.

• Jamtse organizes field trips for the residents of the Elders Home as well as elders living alone in Dharamsala with the help of young volunteers which acts to bridge the gap between the two.

• Plan and organize in-house picnics and gatherings at the Elders Home, in which the volunteers will also play an integral role.

• Collect in-kind donations like clothing, eyeglasses, canes etc for the residents.

• Throughout the year Jamtse does several activities at the Elders Home according to their needs like bringing in seasonal fruits, giving umbrella for rainy season, warm socks and gloves for winter, flask to keep hot water/tea etc.

• Jamtse aims to extend and promote a sense of caring and commitment to the elderly population and hence inspiring unity among the Tibetan exiled community in India.

• In future, Jamtse aims in working with all the 23 Elders Home in India, Nepal and Bhutan; and bring positive change in their life.
